Hello!

I’m Taneesha Davis, an author and writer based in Melbourne, Australia. Welcome to my author page! I hope we can connect as we build a community of likeminded authors and readers.

I love a good PG13 romance, a hot cup of coffee, winter nights and cosy slippers. I love love, and share it in every word I write. Whether it’s the love I have as a partner, a mother, a daughter, a sister, or a friend, I find magic and stories in the love that makes us human.

Whether you’re here to find your next favourite read, join the 2025 Romance Reading Challenge, or simply connect over a shared love of books, I’m so glad you stopped by. Stay a while, explore, and let’s chat books!

Love Story: The Anthology

Love Story: The Anthology brings together ten short stories that explore the many ways we experience love as humans. Not just the all-consuming romance, but the quiet, complicated, and sometimes messy ways we connect with each other. From first love to love with loss, from the relationships that shape us to the ones that challenge us, these stories capture the depth and complexity of what it means to care for someone.

Whether you’re a lover girly or you just want to enjoy stories of connection, this collection of short stories has something for everyone. In bite-sized reads, this collection is perfect for shaking off that reading slump.

This free collection includes Octopi Sky, an award-winning short story, as well as a prologue to my debut novel Paper Rings. Download Love Story: The Anthology for free in PDF  and explore the many ways love finds us.

Octopi Sky

Winner of the Marj Wilke Short Story Award

Octopi Sky is a quiet reflection on connection, curiosity, and the search for something beyond what we know. Winner of the Lauren E Daniels Encouragement Award as part of the Marj Wilke Short Story Competition, this story follows two beings—one above the ocean, one below—both questioning their place in the world. A fisherman, who has spent most of his life on the water, begins to wonder if there’s more beyond the endless blue. Beneath him, an aging octopus watches the boat above and contemplates the same.

Judge Josephine Moon described the story as “a lovely, quiet meditation on the connections between humans and animals, and nature and spirit, and dreams and our place in the world. A gentle vignette.”
